The Big $$$’s In The World’s Most Boring Business

How Miguel Contreras Scaled His Junk Removal Business From $0 to $50,000 Per Month in Only 18 Months!

If you want to start a business, but you don’t know what type of business to start…

Why not start the simplest, yet surprisingly very profitable, business imaginable?

That’s what this week’s guest Miguel Contreras did.

Miguel went from ex corporate salesmen, to flirting with the idea of real estate, to stumbling into the gold mine of junk removal.

And he started with zero dollars, zero experience and zero network.

In terms of boring businesses, it doesn’t get any more boring then this.

And yet, Miguel has been quietly forming his junk removal empire, building a half a million dollar business in less than 2 years… And it’s not slowing down!

It was all thanks to his wife, who one day said to him:

“Why don’t you take your truck out and pick up people’s junk. You can probably make some cash.”

Boom! $10k in the first month. Wait a second there’s something here.

Then:

  • 3 months → $15k/month

  • 6 months → $25k/month

  • 18 months → $50k/month

But don't be fooled...

It's not as simple as taking your truck out and picking up rubbish. Miguel’s implementing a sophisticated and aggressive system that any service business owner or future service business owner can apply.

This episode is a must-listen for those seeking a straightforward cash flowing business. With minimal capital invested, and some basic business skills, even a first time entrepreneur can be profitable from day one and on their way to building a junk removal empire like Miguel.

Here’s some of Miguel’s best tips from the episode for getting started and staying profitable in the garbage game:

The 2 Potential Paths For Junk Removal Business Owners: “You have two options. You can either stay small and hyper profitable. Or you can scale as fast as humanly possible because you want to get out of the field, you want to build an actual business that you can either, put on autopilot or be able to sell for a multiple… I thought I'm going to grow as fast as humanly possible.”

Making Your Leads More Profitable Via Neighbour Upselling: “We're also going to the neighbours right next door. Hey, we're going to be here for 30 minutes. If you need me to move my truck, just let me know. Also, if you have any other items you want to get rid of now's the time to do it. So now each lead that's costing me close to a hundred bucks sometimes, can be a lot more profitable and now we have profitable leads, which is problem solved.”

How To Charge Premium Pricing: “The moment you give a number over the phone, they’re like, okay, let me call somebody else and get more pricing. And, you won't be the cheapest. So what you want to do is get out on the field. Hi, this is Miguel, say your introduction and when they say, I got a couch, I got this, want taken away, asking for their name, address, and as soon as they say their address or the city that they're located, Oh, hey, Mr. Customer, especially if you're new, you have a lot of time, you don't have a lot of jobs, Mr. Customer, I'm going to be in the area later this afternoon or in a couple hours or whatever, is it cool if I stop by and give you a quote when I get there? If it works for you, we can go ahead and take it on the spot. When you get there, shake their hand, become their friend, talk about sports, whatever it is that you can become their friend. That's the biggest thing. The pricing almost becomes a non issue after that.”

You won’t want to miss it.
